From Indiana, through Kentucky and now into West Virginia. My friend Chad and I have arranged our travels so we can spend an extra day riding together before he heads back to PA and I head on to more adventure. Tonight we are staying at a Ashland KOA. Just parking for the night to sleep before heading up to Spencer for a mountain bike ride at Charles Fork Lake.

My first full on campground experience was at a great little private campground just north of Columbus Ohio. With the weather turning there aren’t many people outside enjoying the pool, or the mini-golf, the tandem bicycles, or the sand volleyball court. Just to name a few.
This would definitely be a place that I would come back to in the warmer months. I had a quiet spot on the back of the campground so I could get my work done before taking a ride on my bike to a sweet mountain biking trail across the lake. All told I rode 10.85 miles. What a day!

Today I begin what promises to be an adventure beyond imagination. For more than 17 years I have been dreaming about the opportunity to say goodbye to everything and travel. The destination and means of travel have gone through many adjustments throughout the years but the dream of travel has remained firmly in my heart and mind.
Today I hit the road. My first stop is Ithaca New York.
